How digital displays could make the most of your new year’s eve
While last year’s New Year’s Eve might not have exactly been one for the ages, this year promises to be at least a little more palatable. With the hospitality and retail sectors suffering more than most over the pandemic, this New Year needs to be something special.
With that in mind, we’ve collected a few ideas (and borrowed a couple too) that could make the most of your digital signage and create a spectacular new year’s atmosphere without spending a small fortune.
Individualise the experience
One of the best things about digital displays is that they can share different information at different times to reflect what’s going on and who’s there. If you are a restaurant or bar holding a party that requires a named ticketed entry then take advantage of that data. You have everyone’s name so why not include them all in the display as part of the event?
Plan the evening
Having a regimented plan is often the only way you can ensure an NYE party will go the way you want or need it to go, regardless of scale. By using everything from large format LED screens to scrolling LED screens you can keep guests and customers abreast of the current state of the party. And give them directions when required, which could be particularly necessary after a few cocktails have been imbibed.
Keep your customers safe
One of the few positives to come out of the pandemic is that everyone is now so much more aware of the importance of hygiene. This is why you’ll have seen hand sanitiser stations at almost every retail destination and bar or restaurant throughout 2021. Freestanding hand sanitiser stations are a great way of letting customers and guests know you’re taking their safety seriously but how about a station that also includes a digital LED element to really help it stand out?
Food and drink offers
It’s bound to be one of the busiest nights of the year and one of the most gluttonous too. Because if there is one night a year where people are not too bothered about how much they overindulge, it’s new year’s eve. Use your digital signage to scatter food and drink promotions throughout the evening, tempting your guests with a sly wink and a nod.
There’s no strict rule that states your digital display only has to show information or advertisements. If you want to create a show-stopping centrepiece for your New Year’s Eve party then why not get a little creative? While we wouldn’t expect you to be able to pull off something on such a grand scale, the recent Samsung art installation at Time’s Square in New York is a perfect example.
Countdown to midnight
The crux of any NYE party is the countdown to midnight. A digital display will allow you to make the most of this opportunity and create everything from a simple 60 - 0 countdown to a more elaborate animation that visualises the transition from one year into the next.
