World’s Largest Self-Storage Company to Save $1.9 Million with LED Lighting
The world’s largest storage company hopes to save almost 2 million dollars by switching to LED lighting with a 50,000-hour lifespan or the equivalent of more than 13 years at 10 hours of use per day.
Plans for LED lights fitted as standard, along with a maintenance costs saving arrangement with GE Lighting is to help Public Storage, the self-storage operator, cut bills by almost $2 million it has been announced. Over the next 3-5 years the company aims to replace all their current lighting with a standard LED that they expect will reduce energy consumption by 73%. Competitive prices and improving LED quality helped make the choice over T8 fluorescent lamps.
